National Election Positions
President
The president is the one seated at the top of the governmental position in his respective country. He has duties in making sure laws written by Congress are implemented and enforced upon the country. The President also has the power either to sign the legislation into law or to veto bills enacted by Congress, although Congress may override a veto with a two-thirds vote of both houses. The Executive Branch conducts diplomacy with other nations and the President has the power to negotiate and sign treaties, which the Senate ratifies. The President can issue executive orders, which direct executive officers or clarify and further existing laws. The President also has the power to extend pardons and clemencies for federal crimes. Another power a president has certain powers over non-Filipinos in the Philippines. Other powers that a president has been to supervising local government in its state, and the power to appoint officials in the government.
Vice President
The vice president acts as president in the absence of the president due to death, resignation, impeachment, or other situations. However, the Vice President's primary function, according to the Constitution, is to serve as President of the Senate. Other duties of the Vice president are acting as an adviser for the president, if ever the president is absent he/she will perform ceremonial duties, making a public appearance that represents the president, and meetings with government heads or of other countries.
Senators
By scrutinizing laws, delegated legislation, government administration, and government policy in general, the Senate fulfills its responsibility as a check on government. It does this through processes used in the Senate chamber and the operation of the Senate committee system. And as a senator, he/she has a duty to be the people’s voice about their problems, concerns, or ideas that can benefit their community. To further add to his duties is they also need to gather information from members of that community and share it publicly. In addition, they also have powers to create bills, resolutions, concurrent resolutions, and simple resolutions, propose amendments to the Constitution through a constituent assembly or constitutional convention and Conduct inquiries in aid of legislation.
Comelec
The COMELEC is the principal government agency tasked by the Constitution to enforce and administer all laws and regulations concerning the conduct of regular and special elections.
